EM + GPR Locating · For excavators & earthworks crews

EM + GPR utility locating for excavation contractors.

Every bucket you drop is a bet that nothing's in the way. BC One Call clears the public lines to the property line — but the private services beyond it (water, irrigation, private power, gas to outbuildings, septic) are yours to find, and yours to answer for if you don't. A struck line stops the job, blows the budget, and in the case of gas or power, endangers your crew.

We're the private-locate layer that runs after One Call and before your machine: dual-method EM + GPR clearance, depths at the dig box, and a marked, documented site so your operator works with confidence instead of holding their breath.

Excavation Contractors ask

I already called BC One Call. Why do I need you?

BC One Call covers member utilities' PUBLIC lines to the property line only — it does not locate the private services beyond it, which is where most of an excavator's strikes actually happen: the homeowner's water service, the irrigation, the private power run to the garage, the gas to the pool heater. Those are your responsibility on a dig, and a private locate is how you meet it. One Call plus private locate is the complete answer.

Can you keep up with my schedule?

Private-locate clearances book promptly and slot into your job sequence — after One Call, before excavation — so the crew isn't waiting. For repeat-dig contractors, a standing arrangement (agreed scope and rates, dispatched per job) turns locating into a routine line item instead of a scramble. Province-wide coverage means the same crew logic works across BC.

What happens if you mark it and we still hit something?

We locate to the standard the technology allows with both EM and GPR, mark depths, and flag the critical crossings for hand-exposure or vacuum potholing — which is the responsible last word before machinery, and which we'll coordinate. No locator can promise zero strikes (abandoned and unmarked lines exist), but the dual-method survey plus potholing at the conflicts is exactly the diligence that keeps a strike from being a where-were-the-locates problem.
