Ultrasonic Leak Detection

BC's experts in high-frequency acoustic leak detection. Our ultrasonic technology detects leaks in pressurized systems with pinpoint accuracy - even through concrete and steel.

How Ultrasonic Detection Works

Ultrasonic leak detection uses high-frequency sound waves (typically 20-100 kHz) to identify leaks that are inaudible to the human ear. When water or gas escapes through a small opening under pressure, it creates turbulent flow that generates ultrasonic frequencies.

Our advanced sensors detect these frequencies through solid materials including concrete, steel, and insulation. Combined with digital signal processing, we can pinpoint leak locations with centimeter-level accuracy without any excavation or system shutdown.

Technology Capabilities

  • High-frequency acoustic sensors detect leaks through walls and concrete
  • Non-invasive testing - no need to shut down systems
  • Detects leaks in pressurized water, steam, and gas systems
  • Pinpoint accuracy to within centimeters
  • Works on pipes from 1/2 inch to 48 inches diameter
  • Real-time digital analysis and reporting
